Evidam Swargamanu (Malayalam: ഇവിടം സ്വര്ഗ്ഗമാണ്; English: It's Heaven Here) is a 2009 Malayalam film written by James Albert, directed by Rosshan Andrrews, and starring Mohanlal, Sreenivasan, Lalu Alex, and Lakshmi Rai in the lead roles. The film was produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas.
The film was an average hit in the box office[1] and was critically acclaimed. It won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Popular Film.[2]

Evidam Swargamanu narrates the story of Mathews (Mohanlal), a hard working farmer and his fight against land mafia, which tries to take over his farmland. Mathews and his father Jermias (Thilakan) are hard working farmers, who have successfully built a farmland along with a cow shed consisting of huge number of cows. His agricultural land is a matter of envy for many. Mathews lead a calm, silent and happy life along with his family consisting of his father, mother Elsamma (Kaviyoor Ponnamma) and her sister Rahelamma (Sukumari). Problem starts when Aluva Chandy (Lalu Alex), a powerful land dealer, eyes the farm of Mathews, who tries to convince him to sell the land, which Chandy wants to sell to a Mumbai based businessman at a high profit. But Mathews is not ready to accept the demands by Chandy and files a complaint at the police station against Chandy of intruding into his property. The police officer, but instead acts as agent of Chandy, which puts Mathews into a helpless situation. Chandy's fake promises including the setting up of a model township allures the people around to support Chandy. They try to convince Mathews to sell off the land, and his opposition makes him an enemy of the rest of the villagers. Several of his friends leave away the village by selling the land, but Mathews and his father are adamant. Aluva Chandy fabricates several civil cases against Mathews and his farm, prompting court to take appoint one man committee to visit and submit and report. Advocate Sunitha (Lakshmi Rai), who visits the farm finds it quite satisfactory and submits report to court. Her senior, on instruction from Chandy dismisses her from his team. Several govt departments now starts raising up legal issues against the farm of Mathews, including financial irregularities and repayment of loan, failing to which Jermias will be arrested. Betsy (Priyanka), a reporter with a news channel tries to bring out the hassles faced by Mathews in her channel, but the channel authorities blocks her from doing so. Sunitha, now takes up the case of Mathews. She approaches court on his behalf and get an amicus curiae appointed to look into the illegal property dealings in the state. Advocate Prabalan (Sreenivasan), an efficient lawyer is appointed as the amicus curiae. The rest of the story is how Mathews with the help of Prabalan brings out the corruption of several govt agencies and wins back his land.
This film refers to the legal terminology amicus curiae, which was until now not familiar to the common audience.
Though the movie did not feature any songs, a promotional album was released. The album features two songs composed by Mohan Sithara, with lyrics by Bichu Thirumala and Kaithapram.
